Confusion reigns on Hungarian media law
January 19, 2011
Sir,
Regarding ‘Parliament scales down Hungary media law debate‘:
As private citizens, we are bewildered and confused.
On the one hand, the European Commission still has to evaluate the conformity of the Hungarian media law with regard to EU legislation.
On the other, MEPs from one political group already calling protests against this law and are demanding that meetings in Budapest be boycotted and moved to Brussels.
Is this coherent and consistent EU policymaking?
