EU urged to regulate deep-sea drilling after BP spill

Sir,

Regarding ‘EU urged to regulate deep-sea drilling after BP spill‘:

Is it not irresponsible to ask for more regulation than at present when we still do not know what caused the accident or why the safety nets used did not work?

Do these associations really think that checking twice for unknowns or requiring more documents is going to make things better or risk analysis more efficient?

A responsible person first waits for the technical investigation to finish. At that point he may ask for more control or better practices to solve the problem and make sure that it does not occur again.

Right now all the fuss is worthless and dangerous.
